Shadow

'Shadow' consists of 52 LED spots located in a large circle of 6 x 6 meters in the ceiling.

On the basis of illusion and perception, the artists want to put the viewer in the center of the work.

Viewed from outside, the work is a great circle located in the ceiling from which white light is spreading in to the room. The moment the viewer enters the circle, the white light will be broken as in a prism, and 52 contrast-colored shadows will be thrown into a star shape around the viewer. This makes all the colors, which previously have been present in the white light, visible to the viewer as a color palette on the floor.

If more people enter the light, their shadows overlap each other and form new colors and patterns within the circle. As an interactive sundial, 'Shadow', will invite the viewer to enter the circle and let the many colors of light spread in to the room. Only because of the viewer, the colors become roused to life and the circle of white light transforms into a sea of beautiful colors.

Colors and contrasts in the light can be adjusted and programmed, but the work will require a relatively dark room, with an evenly colored bright floor. The darker the roomis, the stronger the visual effect will be.
